Sergio

Sergio is about a Bunny Rabbit, whose father lives in constant fear for his son’s safety that he spends long grueling hours teaching him survival skills, from the dangers that a small bunny would encounter In his day. Unfortunately Sergio’s father was unaware that he was preparing his son for the ultimate battle for life or death. Sergio became proficient in his skills, many times he stared danger in the face even challenging it only to outwit it. Then one day something that was so hideous, so deadly spooked him that Sergio became afraid of his own shadow.

In conveying Sergio’s plight I realize it is a little graphic with some strong wording, however I wanted to show children that sometimes life’s situations or battles are not always going to be dressed up in a suit or tie, as in a bully, but everything they need to succeed is already inside of them to triumphant.

I love children and animals, and felt writing this story using animal’s children would relate better to the message I am trying to impart. This story is about intimidation, finding your inner strength, the only way to win the battle is to begin and the feeling of euphoria when you succeed. This story is unique in that there is so little conversation in children’s books about these points I have bought up.
